In 2006, the executive board of Rabeya
Foundation decided to extend the eye care solution of Rabeya Eye Hospital to
the more distressed areas within Magura district. Under the leadership of Dr.
Mizanur Rahman, the specialist eye care team launched a District-wide eye camp program.
The program successfully reached to all the four “thanas” within the district,
namely, Mohammadpur, Sreepur, Salikha and Magura.
The
district-wide eye camp conducted consecutive Eye Camp and Cataract Operation
Screening camp at
1. Nakol Raichoron Secondary School on 7 January,
2. Nohata
Secondary School on 8 January,
3. Norihati Secondary High School on 9 January and
4. Shalikha Thana Pilot Secondary School on 10 January.
More than 850 patients
were treated in the outdoor and later 83 patients were operated for cataract under the program.
